Return & Cancellation Policy

Genie in a Book creates personalized, made-to-order products. Because each printed book is custom, our return policy is different from a standard retail return policy.

Return window

7 days after delivery for damaged, defective, misprinted, or incorrect items.

Return condition

Eligible issues must be reported with photos. Custom books are otherwise final sale once printing starts.

Return method

Email support with your order number and photos. Please do not mail books back to us.

Fees

No return shipping fees. Eligible replacements are provided at no cost.

Cancellations

Refunds may be issued before your book goes to print. After printing starts, orders cannot be canceled.

Returns For Personalized Books

We accept return requests only for books that arrive damaged, have a printing defect, contain a production error, or are the wrong item. Contact us within 7 days of delivery and include photos of the issue. If the request is eligible, we will replace the book at no cost.

Final Sale After Printing Starts

Because each book is custom-made from your approved story, characters, cover, and page art, we do not accept returns or refunds after printing starts for change of mind, preference changes, or correctly printed approved designs.

Cancellations Before Printing

If you contact us before your book goes to print, cancellation and refund may be possible. Once a book has been approved and sent to print, the order cannot be canceled.

How To Request Help

  • Email support@genieinabook.com within 7 days of delivery.
  • Include your order number, the email used for the order, and photos showing the damage, defect, or incorrect item.
  • Do not mail the book back to us. We do not require physical returns for personalized books.
  • If the issue is eligible, we will provide a free replacement and any next steps by email.

Digital Versions

The digital flipbook and printable PDF are included at no extra cost with eligible book purchases. Since they are free included items, there is no separate refund for digital versions.
